About

Odin is the supreme deity of Norse mythology, known as the Allfather and ruler of Asgard. He is a complex god who embodies wisdom, war, poetry, and death, constantly seeking knowledge at any cost.

Unlike gods who gained power through birthright alone, Odin sacrificed himself on the World Tree Yggdrasil for nine days to gain the wisdom of the runes. He also traded one of his eyes for a drink from Mímir's well of knowledge, forever marking his face with the price of wisdom.

Accompanied by his ravens Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory), and his wolves Geri and Freki, Odin watches over the nine realms. He gathers fallen warriors to his hall Valhalla, preparing for the final battle of Ragnarök.

Famous Story

To gain the wisdom of the runes, Odin hung himself from Yggdrasil for nine days and nights, pierced by his own spear, without food or water. On the ninth night, screaming, he grasped the runes and their secrets were revealed to him.
