Saint Michael the Archangel is the greatest of all angels in Christian tradition, the commander of God's heavenly armies and the champion of justice. His name means "Who is like God?"—a battle cry against all that opposes the divine.
In the Book of Revelation, Michael leads the hosts of heaven against Satan and his fallen angels, casting them down from paradise. He is the protector of the faithful, the guardian of the Church, and the one who weighs souls on Judgment Day.
