About

Rama is the seventh avatar of Vishnu, the hero of the Ramayana, and the epitome of dharmic living. He is the ideal son, husband, king, and warrior—maryada purushottam, the perfect man who never strays from righteousness even under the most terrible trials.

Exiled to the forest for fourteen years to honor his father's word, Rama bore hardship without complaint. When his wife Sita was kidnapped by the demon king Ravana, he allied with Hanuman and the monkey army to rescue her, demonstrating that dharma eventually triumphs over evil.

Rama's reign, Rama Rajya, represents the ideal just kingdom. He is worshipped as the embodiment of how a person should live—honoring duty, protecting the innocent, keeping promises, and remaining righteous regardless of personal cost.

Famous Story

When Sita was kidnapped, Rama could have used his divine powers to teleport to Lanka. Instead, he walked the long path, building bridges and allying with the vanara, teaching that dharma requires going through proper process, not taking shortcuts even when capable.
