About

Isaiah is considered the greatest of the Hebrew prophets, serving during the reigns of four kings and delivering some of the most beautiful and challenging prophecies in Scripture. His vision of God in the temple transformed him from a man of unclean lips to God's willing messenger.

His prophecies span judgment and hope, warning of exile yet promising restoration. His messianic prophecies—of a virgin bearing a son, a suffering servant, a prince of peace—have been central to Jewish and Christian understanding of God's salvation plan.

Isaiah represents prophetic vision that sees beyond the immediate to God's ultimate purposes, the call to speak difficult truths, and the hope that shines even in the darkest predictions of judgment.

Famous Story

Isaiah saw the Lord high and exalted in the temple, with seraphim calling 'Holy, holy, holy.' Overwhelmed by his unworthiness, Isaiah cried out. A seraph touched his lips with a burning coal: 'Your guilt is taken away.' When God asked, 'Whom shall I send?' Isaiah answered, 'Here am I. Send me!'
