Hades is the god of the underworld and ruler of the dead, one of the three sons of Cronus who divided the cosmos with his brothers Zeus and Poseidon. Though often feared, Hades is not evil—he is the stern but fair judge of the deceased, ensuring each soul receives its proper fate.
