✦ Personality Traits
✦ About
Diana is the Roman goddess of the hunt, the moon, and wild animals. Twin sister of Apollo in mythology, she was associated with woodlands, childbirth, and the protection of young women. She roamed the forests with her nymphs, eternally virginal and fiercely independent.
Diana was especially worshipped by the common people and slaves, as her most famous sanctuary at Lake Nemi was known for accepting escaped slaves as priests. The "Rex Nemorensis" (King of the Woods) who served Diana could only be replaced by a slave who killed him in combat.
As goddess of the moon, Diana represented the three phases of womanhood—the maiden, the mother, and the crone. She was portrayed with bow and arrows, accompanied by hunting dogs or deer, embodying the wild, untamed feminine spirit.
✦ Famous Story
When the hunter Actaeon stumbled upon Diana bathing, she transformed him into a stag. His own hunting dogs, not recognizing their master, tore him apart—a reminder that the goddess's privacy and purity were sacred and inviolable.
✦ If You Match
You carry the wild spirit of Diana. There is an independent, fierce quality to your presence—the look of one who runs free and answers to no one.
