About

Ahura Mazda is the supreme deity of Zoroastrianism, the ancient Persian religion that profoundly influenced Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He is the uncreated creator of the universe, the source of all that is good, true, and orderly.

He represents light, truth (Asha), and wisdom in eternal opposition to Angra Mainyu (Ahriman), the destructive spirit of lies and chaos. This cosmic battle between good and evil, light and darkness, was one of the first dualistic religious concepts in history.

Ahura Mazda created the Amesha Spentas (Bounteous Immortals) to help govern creation. Zoroaster, the prophet of this religion, received his revelations directly from Ahura Mazda. The faith teaches that good thoughts, good words, and good deeds align one with Ahura Mazda's truth.

Famous Story

In the beginning, Ahura Mazda existed alone in infinite light. He created the universe in seven stages, culminating in humanity—beings with free will who could choose good over evil. The cosmic battle will end when humanity's good choices finally defeat darkness.
